For Performers

Art 522a – Now, finally the singer can drown out the guitar.

This system has all the pro-level benefits of the 322a system, but weighs less and has almost twice the power. The top end is exceptionally crisp and even when driven hard, show no sign of stress. The output at high power can be frightening to anybody but the most hard-core volume junky. When used as an instrument monitor you will hear things from your instrument you normally only hear in a quiet studio with expensive monitors.

It is the only PA box to have when you have to load-in upstairs!

Be prepared to make new friends with a pair of these.

It's great as a front of house system, but combined with the 525a allows:

  • A ridiculously loud and crisp fold-back wedge. (Warmer than the 525).
  • The best acoustic guitar monitor ever!
  • Monster keyboard sound with the most accurate acoustic you will ever hear from a powered speaker.
  • A very defined bass monitor with lots of rich harmonic twang.

For DJ's

Art 522a – When too much is just enough

This system has all the pro-level benefits of the 322a system, but weighs less and has almost twice the power. The top end is crisp and shows no sign of stress when driven hard. The output at high power can be frightening to anybody but the most hard-core volume junky. Nobody will believe you when you say it’s a 12” speaker.

Not just a great Front Of House system, try:

  • Imaging an indulgent list of everything you've ever wanted from a PA system
  • Now imagine some more.

For Sound Engineers

Art 522a – Live audio plastic boxes on steroids

A self-processing 19 Kg plastic 12” powered box with 250 watts of 2” hi-tech neodymium horn and 500 watts of mid/bass. What can you say?

When RCF set up their factory in northern Italy in the 1940s, they had no idea that it would become a hub for material science and engineering companies. It is no accident that some of this scientific culture has rubbed off on RCF, specifically in the development of aerospace plastics which have become integral to RCF speaker box design.

RCF are one of very few (if any) speaker manufacturing companies that design and make all the parts that are used in their speakers. RCF even make their own production machinery. Most speaker manufacturers out source parts and only assemble the final drivers.

This is not a cheap box as far as the plastic speaker market is concerned. The 750 Watt PWM (pulse width modulation) amplifier is the newest technology in powerful hi-fidelity amplification. If the RCF Art 322a are lauded by pro-audio guys (who once would have never taken a plastic box seriously), you can imagine the effect on sceptical pro-audio users when they see this 750 watt box pushed it to full power. And you can really flog these boxes without damage.

Not adversely compromised by high ambient heat or dust due to sealed and low thermal generating PWM amplifier design.

The art 522a is the ultimate plastic multi-purpose box for :

  • A small band that wants to be a loud as a big band.
  • A very versatile PA speaker with the output of a small horn loaded system.
  • The best powered box ever for a real Fender Rhodes piano or Hammond organ.
  • A no compromise fold-back wedge that doubles as a drum fill.
  • An evenly balanced mid throw top end partner for a 2 x 18 sub.

* A note on claimed Vs actual power figures quoted by speaker manufacturers. RMS measurements are the official standard used in measuring Pro-audio power. 100 watts RMS is equal to 200 Watts “music” power and 400 watts peak power. When music companies quote power figures on their speakers they often quote music power to make their products look better – i.e. a 450-watt music power speaker is only really a 225 watt RMS speaker. RCF only quotes power figures in accordance with pro-audio IEC standards.
