For Performers

Art 525a – Maximum output, minimum weight

This system behaves similarly to the Art 325a but with a lot more output and considerably less weight.

At 131dB output, this is the loudest plastic box on the market and one of the loudest compact speaker systems of any brand or price. Like the 325a, it can be teamed up with a high powered 2 x 18 sub bass to give you serious output for large gigs.

Whether you prefer the Art 522a or the 525a depends on what sound you like and what kind of PA system environment you are planning to use it in.

It's the only PA box to have when you have to load-in upstairs!

As well as a long-throw Front Of House, the Art 525a will be the ultimate in:

  • A ridiculously loud and crisp fold-back wedge that will need almost no EQ to overpower a wall of Marshalls.
  • Absolutely the best acoustic guitar monitor ever! (Slightly less EQ needed than the 522a when used as a fold-back wedge).
  • Ultra loud keyboard monitor.
  • A defined bass monitor with lots of rich harmonic twang.

For DJ's

Art 525a – The last sound system you'll ever buy

This system behaves very similarly to the Art 325a but with a lot more output and considerably less weight. At 131dB output, this is the loudest plastic box on the market and one of the loudest compact speaker systems of any brand or price. Like the 325a, it can be teamed up with a high-powered 2 x 18 sub bass to give you serious output for large gigs.

Whether you’ll prefer the Art 522a or the 525a depends on what sound you prefer and what kind environment you are planning to use it in.

The only PA box to have when you have to load in up stairs! (But not heavy enough to be a good door chock).

As well as a reasonably long throw front of house, the Art 525a will be the ultimate in:

  • See the list for the 522a and add more dB.

For Sound Engineers

Art 525a – Like an Art 522a with more “wack”

The 525a is a 2” neodymium horn + 15” neodymium bass. Powered with 750 watts of bi-amp power. Everything about the Art 525a, from the Danish made PWM (Pulse width Modulation) amplifiers to the latest in lightweight ultra high powered drivers is completely new.

As far as a shoot-out between competitors is concerned, it's like showing up at a classic western Ok Corral gun battle in a tank!

These boxes are for the audio person who wants the best thing on the market and has a bank account to back it up. However they're not so expensive when you consider the quantity of conventional boxes and amps you would need to get 131dB. They are stunning as FOH boxes but as a fold-back wedges they are frightening and should come with hazard tape and blast screens for any guitar player or singer stupid enough to yell “more fold-back!”

Any monitor guy would be getting pretty excited right now.

The Art 525a is unbeatable for:

  • High/Mid/Bass part of a full range PA supported by 2 x 18” high powered sub bass.
  • Full range fold-back wedge for a very loud stage.
  • Cue monitor for high level fold-back engineer.
  • World's loudest DJ compact monitor.
  • The ultimate acoustic guitar monitor for rich deaf baby-boomer hippies who just sold their Microsoft shares to follow the dream.

* A note on claimed Vs actual power figures quoted by speaker manufacturers. RMS measurements are the official standard used in measuring Pro-audio power. 100 watts RMS is equal to 200 Watts “music” power and 400 watts peak power. When music companies quote power figures on their speakers they often quote music power to make their products look better – i.e. a 450-watt music power speaker is only really a 225 watt RMS speaker. RCF only quotes power figures in accordance with pro-audio IEC standards.
